Local Artist Making International Waves
Local singer and songwriter, Cortni Bird, is making big waves in the Country Music Industry. A resident of, Navarre, FL, Cortni is on track to become an international star and she lives right here in our backyard! Recently, Cortni has released a new single, “I Can’t Tell You” that is already receiving International airplay. The song has hit the radio in Europe with airplay across the region in countries including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, The Netherlands, and Scotland, with high expectations for an impressive UK Billboard Ranking! In addition, the release is scheduled to begin playing in Australia, as well.
But this international airplay is only the tip of the iceberg with Cortni’s emerging fame. Her single launches here in the United States on March 1st. Her first recording session in Nashville is already finished. March 7th-9th she will be returning to Nashville to record four more songs with a final session shortly after for a full album release in June. The album release will be followed by her performing at the Country Music Awards Festival in June.
Cortni is an independent artist and songwriter, owner and operator of Free Bird Consulting and Publishing. Additionally Hillcrest Music has distributed her single to multiple radio stations in the music industry across seas.
Cortni is not just a resident of the Emerald Coast she is also an active part of our community. Cortni is a member of The Northwest Florida Manufacturers Council and serves on the Membership Committee and is the Co-Chair of the Military Task Force. She is the host, and talent of her 30A TV show, “Backstage with Cortni.”
On top of everything else in her life she is a production manager with “Country on the Sound,” a local annual Music Festival in Navarre. In this capacity, she has planned and performed at the event sharing the same stage as Trace Adkins and Big and Rich.
Despite her emerging fame and pending concert tours Cortni says she will always call the Emerald Coast home. “I love the area. The beauty inspires my music, the people here are amazing, and I am a huge supporter of our military. While Nashville is Country’s ‘Music City,’ no matter what opportunities this world brings me I will always come home to our beautiful small town beach life.”
When asked about her emerging fame Cortni remains humble, “Sitting on the beach in Navarre and writing music; it’s sometimes hard to believe that my songs are playing across Europe, and about to hit the air in the U.S. It’s really pretty amazing!” Between recording sessions in Nashville, concert events, and community involvement, Cortni remains extremely busy, “Honestly things have just been crazy. I’ve been busy in Orlando, doing photo shoots here in Navarre and Destin, and recording my album in Nashville. There is so much happening so fast. The truth is though, I love it! I love my music and the Emerald Coast and can’t ever imagine slowing down!”
With more upcoming events, song releases, and exciting news there are plans Cortni cannot yet reveal, but her fiery personality prevents her from keeping it a complete secret. “With album contracts things have to do be done a certain way. There are things I am not allowed to release yet….but I can’t wait to knock everyone’s socks off when my music video hits!”
